{"id":56838,"date":"2022-02-07T14:50:49","date_gmt":"2022-02-07T19:50:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.zegabi.com\/articles\/?p=56838"},"modified":"2022-02-07T14:50:49","modified_gmt":"2022-02-07T19:50:49","slug":"olf-massacres-168-civilians-in-western-ethiopia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.zegabi.com\/articles\/56838","title":{"rendered":"OLF massacres 168 civilians in western Ethiopia"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\":r3\" class=\"Ar Au Ao\">\n<div id=\":qz\" class=\"Am Al editable LW-avf tS-tW tS-tY\" role=\"textbox\" aria-label=\"Message Body\">\n<p>The Oromo Liberation Front (OLF) has massacred 168 civilians in Gidami district, Qelem Wellega Zone in Ethiopia\u2019s Oromia regional state.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"gmail-d2edcug0\">A mass grave in which the bodies of 81 civilians were buried\u00a0has been uncovered while 87 others were collected from different places,<\/span> the zone\u2019s administrator Ibssa Besha told Ethiopian Press Agency On Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Ibssa said the district is now cleared from the OLF troops in a counter offensive launched by Oromia security forces.<\/p>\n<p>Eyewitnesses, however, said the OLF troops are still available in the district, aggravating displacement of ethnic Amharas.<\/p>\n<p>More than 5000 ethnic Amharas fled to Debere Berhan town fleeing the targeted attacks in the district.<\/p>\n<p>The OLF troops also known as \u201cShene\u201d destroyed or looted 30 government offices in the district, the administrator has said.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, fierce fighting is going on in Koneba and Berhaile districts of afar region between Tigray People\u2019s Liberation Front (TPLF) and Afar Special Force and Militia.<\/p>\n<p>The Tigrayan forces have continued controlling more lands in Megalle, Abaala Konaba, Erebti, Berhaile districts in Afar region.<\/p>\n<p>According to information reaching Zegabi.com the government troops are deployed in the three of the districts\u00a0 and making counter offences.<\/p>\n<p>The Tigray People\u2019s Liberation Front (TPLF) is set to launch a massive offensive operation dubbed as \u201cZemecha Yekatit\u201d as of February 8, 2022.<\/p>\n<p>TPLF has reorganized its military forces into seven armies and finalized preparations to launch the offensives.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Oromo Liberation Front (OLF) has massacred 168 civilians in Gidami district, Qelem Wellega Zone in Ethiopia\u2019s Oromia regional state.
