{"id":10875,"date":"2016-10-21T06:38:45","date_gmt":"2016-10-21T10:38:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.zegabi.com\/articles\/?p=10875"},"modified":"2016-10-21T06:39:17","modified_gmt":"2016-10-21T10:39:17","slug":"eritrean-traffickers-in-calais-camp-lynch-sudanese-immigrant-for-attempting-to-travel-alone-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.zegabi.com\/articles\/10875","title":{"rendered":"Eritrean Traffickers in Calais Camp Lynch Sudanese Immigrant for Attempting to Travel Alone"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Source: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-3855022\/Sudanese-asylum-seeker-stabbed-death-lynch-mob-50-drunk-Eritrean-people-smugglers-near-Calais-Jungle-tried-flee-UK.html\">Daily Mail UK<\/a><\/p>\n<p>An asylum seeker has been stabbed to death by a lynch mob of people traffickers near Calais after he tried to flee to reach the UK on his own, French authorities have revealed.<\/p>\n<p>Mohamad Omar Eyman suffered fatal knife wounds late on Monday night when he returned to the squalid Norrent-Fontes camp.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Eyman, 26, from Sudan, was set upon by a gang of 50 Eritrean migrants \u2013 described by a state prosecutor and a charity chief as people smugglers \u2013 when he returned to the make-shift collection of tents in France&#8217;s Pas-de-Calais region after failing to reach the UK.<\/p>\n<p>A friend who tried to defend Mr. Eyman was also stabbed but is believed to have survived.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It wasn&#8217;t a fight but a punishment, a lynching,&#8221; claimed Nan Suel, president of the French migrant welfare charity Terre d&#8217;Errance.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;The murder victim had left the camp [at Norrent-Fontes] for Calais because he was in dispute with the people traffickers.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Finally he came back to Norrent-Fontes. But the traffickers would not put up with his return and set upon him.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Mr Eyman tried to run away but was pursued by his attackers. He collapsed several hundred metres from the camp.<\/p>\n<p>The perpetrators fled after the &#8220;lynching,&#8221; the welfare charity claims.
